I really want a Madame Alexander Dear America doll. They're dolls based on the Dear America books. I used to love these books when I was littler. I read the entire series in one summer I was so interested in that series! Jut ask my mom, she'll tell you that I was reading so much it almost wasn't human! I still read the new ones to this day. The books are a bit like the American Girl Collection books, only for girls a little older, and in diary form. I want one of these dolls REEEEEEEALY bad. I've looked on EBay and every thing.

Depending on how committed you are to getting one, you could try calling the number on this website:
Online Toy Site
They don't have them listed online, but this toy store is located near me, and I have seen at least one of the Dear America dolls there in the past couple of months. They went from having several to just one or two, so they might not have them anymore - worth a call though. I had my eye on them thinking they might go on sale, but they never did. They are about the price of an AG doll (at least they are at this store), so I could never bring myself to buy one.
It's a really nice toy store; I believe they have been one of the main online retailers for the Only Hearts Club dolls. This may have changed since Target started carrying the line though.
Another option, of course, is to search daily on E-bay. I've never seen one listed there, but I only check occasionally.
Good Luck!

You can also look for the "Kelly and You" and "Ashley" 18in Madame Alexander playdolls.
They don't have the historical outfits but thave the EXACT same bodies and faces as the dear america dolls. If you plan to mostly dress them in AG clothes or seamstress clothes, the lack of outfit is really no big deal. They are usually quite a bit cheaper than even the dear americas(which are very reasonable themselves) because of the modern clothes. I have the brunette "Kelly and You", got it cheap, GREAT doll.
They are really beautiful and well made. The breastplate on these dolls is wonderful. The cloth bodies don't show unless an outfit is REALLY skimpy!

I'm not familiar with these dolls but my Tuesday Morning has had the "Today" girl for arounf $39. It sounds like you want the "Historical" ones but you might check Tuesday Morning if you have one nearby.

I used to want one of those dolls very badly. I'm not sure I like them much anymore, but if I ever stumbled upon one of them, especially Mem or Margaret, I'd definitely get her. I did see them in a toy store years ago, and even though I desperately wanted one, I wasn't able to get her.
